David Starr Jordan High School class of 91'-95'
Stories

In the last 13 years I am happy to say that I've managed to accomplish a few things. In 1999 I received my B.A. in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz. In 2001 I received my M.A. in Psychology and in 2003 I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, both from the California School of Professional Psychology. In 2004 I got married, we bought a beautiful home, and I started working in a community mental health clinic as a psychologist. In 2005 I became a licensed psychologist. In 2008 I opened up my own private practice.
It hasn't been easy but I love what I do. My husband and I enjoy traveling and most recently we went on a Safari to Kenya, Africa. We are now looking forward to starting a family.

I am looking forward to seeing many of the people that provided me with the opportunity to see education in a different way.  I left Jordan High School in 1990, began my education at Cal State Bakersfield and finally completed that venture in life at Cal State L.A. Majoring in Criminal Justice .  However, after working and devoting so much time to Jordan High School and seeing the ills of a school that need much support I continued with working and providing for students and completed a Masters Degree in Education specializing in Special Education.  I am currently in pursuit of my dream of returning to Jordan High School as an adminstrator.  I am proud to share that I have found the women of my life that makes me complete.  I have beeen married for four years and now have a beautiful baby girl named Jocelyn whom makes my world more meaningful.

Its been such a long time since high school. After grad, i went to school for a little while but didn't finish. I pretty much went straight to work instead. Unfortunately, that began at a popular fast food chain and that will NEVER happen again.

I went on to work at an elementary school and after that i decided to try a different environment working for a well known dept. store that recently closed for business. There is where I decided that the fashion industry is where i want to be. I have decided to stop working, return to school and pursue my education for a career in fashion merchandising. I'm very happy with my decision and that's where i stand at the moment. Going back to school was the best choice i have made.

I married my high school sweetie in '95 and we have 3 children. My oldest is Toni, 10 and second is Jonathan, 7 and last, but not least, is our daughter Alyssa, 3. My husband and i have had our ups and downs but we're going strong for our family.

I hope to see many familiar faces at our reunion. SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!!

Myrna Salcido's life in a few sentences!!...=)

After High School and I went to Cerritos College and worked at a dental office.  I ended up not finishing college but stayed in the dental field.  After working a few years in private practice I applied for a job at UCLA and ended up in Management for about 10 years.  I love my career in management and wouldn't change it.  As far as my personal life, I'm married and  have three handsome boys that I love with all my heart. My oldest is 9 years old and his name is Adam.  The other two are 6 year old twins named Adrian and Isaac.  They are a handfull but I enjoy every minute of it.

I moved to Queen Creek Arizona in 2006.  I live a very comfortable life and spend a lot more time with my family here.  I do miss California at times, so I visit frequently...=)

I'm so excited about the reunion and can't wait to see all my friends from High School.  I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

I'd like to start by saying that my son (Marvin...do you remember him?) has graduated from St. John Bosco High School and will be going to college!!!  Yay!  I live in Bellflower, but plan to move soon.  I keep in touch with my old classmates (Maria Frias, Barbie, Oscar Sierra, Mr. D, Ana Diaz, Phil Simms - even though he was never a student, some of you know this angel of a man).  I'd worked in the aggressive business arena for many years before finding an excellent experience through the non-profit sector.  I am now 33 years young and I think any woman in her 30's is prime!!!  Ladies, don't you trully feel like a woman now?  No, I am still not married, and won't be for a long time (is that bitterness speaking? hmmm).  No, I don't have additional children, but I do own two cats.  I saw a bumper sticker once that said: Kids are for people who can't have pets.  So, there you go.

I unfortunately did not complete college, but managed to run into many opportunities.  However, now that Marvin will be going to college, I may challenge myself to graduate along with him.  How bizzare!!!

My sister Janet, as you may all have fond memories of her, is still same ol' Janet (aka Mother Superior).  She's full of life, funny, always "busting" a joke or something, and always, I mean always, cleaning the house, or doing laundry, or cooking.  I tell her she has developed ADDS.  She is currently a massage therapist in Orange County, but don't count on her giving you a FREE massage.  I don't even get that perk.  She has worked on herself a lot and many of you will see the blatant changes in her.

For those who would like to touch base with me or my sister, please email at arvizuana@verizon.net or lajanet97@verizon.net.

See you all at the reunion.  Ladies, don't forget to wear your red dress and your red lipstick!

that long huh

Damn!!! Its been that long! woah! Feels like yesterday!

I tried college but not for me yet. Been working in the transportation industry for quite some time now 10 years to be exact. Its been fun or else I would not be here. Haven't married, no kids, its just not time yet. looking to continue old friendships and start new ones.

I began to DJ a couple years ago its something I've wanted to do for quite some time and its been going well. my music collection has been growing and getting larger everyday. I enjoy the Idea of meeting new people constantly and being in the know of whats going on with the young and old as music transcends all barriers.

It will be fun to see ya'll at the reunion to talk about the old and share the new. See ya'll there!!!! late.

What have I done these past 15 years? By Alexandra Farfan (Agabra)

Well after graduation I was planning on going to college, but it didn't work out that way. In 1994 I got married and the following year I gave birth to my daughter who is now 12 years old. Then in 1997 I got divorced. Since then I've graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts. I have worked full time and part time and went to school full time as well. I worked for a well known automotive company in 2004.

I am now working on my Bachelors Degree in Social Work with a Certificate in Gerentology, and an emphasis in the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Child Abuse. In addition I have been a Sunday School Teacher for the past 3 years and am working towards becoming a Deaconess at church (yes I'm a church girl). For the last year and a half I have also been working on writting a book, polishing up on a 3rd language, and attempting to learn a 4th.

Have I re-married ??? No, I have not re-married yet, but look forward to doing so again. For everyone who knew me back in school you would remember me talking about never getting married (in government class with Mr. Broccol or in the chem room with Mr. Taylor,  and Mr. De La Rosa during lunch) and how I was totally against the thought of it.. ...... LOL >> Things changed...

Ever since I graduated I worked full time, went to school full time then I worked out like crazy and still found time to go out.  I was a photographer took family photos and children the pay was great couldn't complain for a 18 year old.  Then I did some modeling jobs that was fun, then I got serious and landed my dream job as international freight fowarder.  My single years in my 20's were the best time of my life.  I met my husband at 22 and we became friends then I got married to him when I was 27 yrears old.  I had my 1st daughter at 28 years old she is now 7 years old.  Stood home until she was 3 years old and decided to study Real Estate so I became a Realtor as well as a Loan Officer.  We also opened up a coffee shop in Pasadena called Equator cafe which soon it will be the Equator Lounge.  This will be the best bar in town..  So anyhow, now I am at home again because I just had another girl.  My girls are my everything, so I think I am going to be homebound for awhile.  Class of 1992...Can't wait to see you all soon again.
